it's that time of the year.

it's that time of the year where people can get a little cranky and tense. well, for some ppl, not me though. i hope so. i'll put up a nice bright smile for everybody even if i'm not in the mood.yes, i'll do that ;)

actually, i don't really like exams especially the period before and during the exams. BUT, i do love the period after the exams though *wink*.
well, what can i do...it's the circle of life. and this is one of many other challenges i have to face.
i can't run, can i?no, i'll stick around and fight. i'm not a coward.
[in my condition right now,i'm not physically fit anyway:P i'll ran out of breath.]

so, i have to get in the mood then. the mood of being nerdy.o_O
be more focus. yes. and pray and ask for Allah's guidance and blessings.InsyaAllah.

i wish i can do a lot more better this semester, cuz i did badly last semester.=_=
so, ppl..let's get nerdy..:D [haha, this sounds so lame.]

good luck to all those who will sit for exams too! i wish you all the best! :)

ps: i can't wait to go to brissy and fly back home.(^_^)v should i do a countdown? nahh,,focus fairuz,,focus!! (=____=") okeyyyyy.....

oh, here's a video i found inspiring and cute too..;)
just a quick random shout out : "I love my mom and dad!! They are the BEST!!"

otak tepu

sebenarnye, ade ke istilah otak tepu? rase xde.heheh. tapi, tu yg menggambarkn ape yg sy rase skarang.=_=" ni belum exam lagi. btw, ade lagi 2 study weeks, then swot-vac pastu baru final exam. ohh, lambat kan............ade org yg abis exam kteorg xstart exam lagi.heh.>__< tape2,,sabar2..that means,,more time to study...alhamdulillah..:D

what i meant by otak tepu is,,i attended a 2-day course called "Real Deal"..it's about fiqh in business transactions..[how do we do business transactions according to Islam] organised by Al-Kauthar organisation. I know, the topic is not really interesting to sum ppl, but considering that i'm studying commerce and i really has little knowledge about these sorts of stuffs,,so, i thought..well,,this is a one chance in a lifetime..And, coincedentally, the course which normally charged $95 was given for free this time ;) [that's not the main reason why i came though :P]

Basically the speaker, Tawfiq Chowdury talked about things such as contracts in business, riba, insurance, investment, mortages, credit cards, loans.and many2 things.. what's interesting is, he will constantly related the things he said with Islam and how do Islam view certain scenarios in business transactions.. One main point pointed out by the speaker is of course about riba and how riba can happen in a way sometimes we don't even now it's riba..such as late payment for bills or buying a coupon or discount card...and also, there's so many new things, new words that i learnt during this course. so, maybe u can check out this website: alkauthar.org to find out about this course and many other courses they organised. One thing in business that was mentioned by the speaker is that everything in business trading is halal until it's proven to be haram.

it has been a great experience..and it has definitely broaden my knowledge esp in islamic banking n finance..:) and also raise my awareness in riba. because i do admit that i never really take this thing serious before this. He mentioned that, in one of the hadith, it is mentioned that riba is worst than committing zina 36 times.. Imagine how bad it is to do riba. but, look around us,,we're surrounded by riba.... that also make me think that i'm actually learning how to calculate those interests...which is riba of course....hmmmmmmmm.....hmmmmm.....[thinking long n hard] oh and also, just to share with you the main hadith for riba.... "Gold for gold, silver for silver, wheat for wheat, barley for barley, salt for salt, the same quantity for the same quantity, hand in hand".
Honestly, I'm not confident to explain about this in the blog, because i'm afraid i'll tell something which is not right..and there's so much explanation to do that i'm afraid it'll led to more confusion. waa,,,many apologies for that..insyaAllah, when I had gathered more information, i'll share it here.okey?

before signing off,,i just want to share a verse from the Qur'an for you to ponder:

"Believers, if you help God, He will help you and make you steadfast in your faith"
"Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Jika kamu menolong (agama) Allah, nescaya Dia akan menolongmu dan meneguhkan kedudukanmu" (Surah Muhammad, 47:7)

So, if we spend time to gain knowledge on our religion or spend time to spread Islam or anything at all, for Islam..insyaAllah..He will help us..:)

tc! (^_____^)v
oh, n all the best for exams!

sharing is caring

Who in the world came out with that phrase? Honestly, how do people say the right thing at the right time? and the words sound cool too. I'm referring to those amazing impromptu speakers whose words are quoted by other people, years and years, generations after generations..amazing..right?

Now, those are words from people. How about words from God? Won't it be more amazing?
Yes. You don't trust me? Pick up a Qur'an and start reading it. I mean really read it and understand word by word. If you don't understand Arabic, it's fine. I don't too. There are Qur'an with translations. Although I must say, I wish I can understand Arabic. And I'm in the process of learning :) Understanding the language will give us more understanding of the Qur'an because Arabic is such a beautiful language.

Now, the Qur'an to me is like some sort of a motivational book. The best one I've read. Whenever I'm feeling down or something, I read the Qur'an and I find myself feeling better. Because, the words that I read is an actual word from God..Subhanallah..:)
Now, I want to share few verses that I love from the Qur'an. Sharing is caring. :P

'If any of My servants ask you (Muhammad) about me,tell them that the Lord says, " I am near; I accept the prayers of those who pray." Let My servants answer My call and believe in Me so that perhaps they may know the right direction.' (Al-Baqarah 2:186)

'...you may not like something which, in fact, is for your own good and something that you may love, in fact, may not be good for you. God knows, but you do not know.' (Al-Baqarah 2:216) 'God does not impose on any person responsibility beyond his ability.....' (Al-Baqarah 2:286)

'Hasten to obtain forgiveness from your Lord and to qualify yourselves for Paradise. Paradise, vast as the heavens and the earth, is prepared for the pious, who spend their property for the cause of God in prosperity as well as in adversity and who also harness their anger and forgive the people. God loves the righteous ones. Paradise is also for those who when committing a sin or doing injustice to themselves, remember God and ask Him to forgive their sins. Who can forgive sins besides God? And who do not knowingly persist in their mistakes?' (Al-'Imran 3:133-135)

'If God is your helper, no one can defeat you. However, if He abandons you, who would help you? The true believers trust in God' (Al-'Imran 3:160)

'For a single good deed, one will be rewarded tenfold. But the recompense for a bad deed will be equal to that of the deed and no injustice will be done to anyone.' (Al-An'am 6: 160)

'After every difficulty, there is relief. Certainly, after every difficulty, there comes relief." (Al-Insyirah 94:5-6)

You know, I could go on and on with the list. There's just so many beautiful words from God.
So, after this..if you had a bad day..instead of getting angry and moody at innocent people around you..I suggest, read the Qur'an..with a sincere heart and feelings. InsyaAllah, God will guide you.
It's 12.54 am. and I think I need a sleep. So, till then..take care of yourselves for me will you? ;)

ps: now, in aussie..i really get the meaning of TGIF (thank God it's Friday). people are just going crazy over the weekend..i can hear sounds of sirens every now and then. well, another saying by some people i dunno. "when it's time to work, work hard..when it's time to play, play hard.." woohoo,,these people must have really worked hard ;)

life is not all about you

It hit me. I always take things for granted. Astaghfirullah..

Fairuz,
Say Alhamdulillah for all 'nikmat' Allah gives you.
Be patient if something goes wrong.
"Allah won't burden someone beyond his ability.." (2:286)
Think about other people on the other side of the world who suffered much more than you.
While you are struggling with exams and life as a student..
other people on the other side of the world are struggling just to keep being alive.

My aunty is in Palestine right now. She's under the mission "Viva Palestina Malaysia" to break the siege of Gaza. May Allah give them strength, protect them and help them to succeed in their mission.
She post some updates on the mission in this blog http://azratogaza.blogspot.com/

It amazed me, how strong she is, to leave her family (my uncle and my four cousins) to go on this mission. I pray she'll come home safely.

I wish I can be as strong as she is to stand for Islam.

Hopefully, after this, I can change myself, to care more about my brothers and sisters around me and around the world. Life is not all about you, fairuz.

ps; there's a seminar on Palestine this Saturday. Jom!
